Over at IO9.com there is a pretty good discussion of Krofft shows that touch the realm of Sci-Fi (and honestly, don’t they all). Here is an excerpt from the article:

Brothers Sid and Marty Krofft first came to fame with their touring puppet show “Les Poupées de Paris” in the 1970s which featured topless puppets, and puppet-on-puppet sex long before Avenue Q or Team America. They later made the move to television with the trippy H.R. Pufnstuf in 1969, which they swear was not drug influenced, nor was the Donny & Marie show, which they created as well. But here at io9, we’ll always remember their wacky-ass forays into science fiction. Find out everything you wanted to know about the Krofft scifi shows of yesteryear in today’s triviagasm.

They have an interesting take on some of the show that us loyal Krofft fans might not agree with, but it is a fun article. Also, there are fun facts sprinkled throughout the article. Go on over and check it out.

LOS ANGELES (The Hollywood Reporter) — Universal Pictures-based Jersey Films has optioned the feature film rights to the The Bugaloos, Sid and Marty Krofft’s 1970-72 psychedelic Saturday morning series on NBC.

The live-action puppet production followed the antics of a group of teenage insects — Joy, Harmony, IQ and Courage — who formed a rock group called the Bugaloos. Band members spoke in English dialects and hung out with their firefly friend Sparky, who often got into trouble with the group’s nemesis Benita Bizarre, a tone-deaf witch living inside a jukebox.

Kerry Brown and Russell Scott have been hired to write the screenplay, which will be produced by Jersey partners Danny DeVito, Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher, along with Sid and Marty Krofft. Randy Pope, executive vp production for the Kroffts, will executive produce.

Jersey production vp Kevin Hardesty and creative executive Adrienne Biddle will supervise development of the project.

“We’re fortunate that many of the people who grew up on our stuff now want to work with us, “Marty Krofft told The Hollywood Reporter. “Stacey Sher has more Krofft memorabilia on her desk than I have in my house!”

Other Krofft TV projects in development around town for features include H.R. Pufnstuf and Land of the Lost. both at Sony Family Entertainment, and Family Affair at Warner Bros.

Jersey Films next releases filmmaker Kasi Lemmons’ The Caveman’s Valentine starring Samuel L. Jackson.
