Hello,
I'm 39 yr. old man who becomes like an 8 yr. old all over again whenever I think of all those classic Saturday Morning Krofft Television shows. My favorites were Electrawoman & Dyna Girl, Bigfoot & Wildboy, Wonderbug, Sigmund & The Seamonsters ,Shazzam, of course , Land Of The Lost...I heard Will Ferrell is doing a Big Screen movie version of L.O.T.L., I hope it's at least as good as "The Flinstone's Movie" starring John Goodman was. However, I read something that was very upsetting to me about Will Ferrell portraying Marshall as a slob & a litterbug...I hope the people responsible for this movie don't disrespect the fans of the original show. I don't mind an updated version with some big special effects and all that, but I pray that they don't mess with the beloved characters which so many people of my generation grew up with. I have a feeling that Will Ferrell's Land Of The Lost is going to be a huge letdown, but I am still looking forward to seeing how the new Sleestacks, Chaka, and dinosaurs will look on the big screen...I hope the movie people don't go too crazy with the CGI though. Just talk to anyone who watched the original show(s) as a kid and they'll tell you how there is something so endeaing and wonderful about those old cardboard and styrofoam props that were used back in the day. Sure the sets were quite cheezy & fake looking, but that was a big part of what made those shows so much fun to watch. Even the original Star Trek & Gilligan's Island used such fake looking sets & props, but nobody really cared about that because it was the characters that made the show so darn cool and exciting to watch. Thanks to sites like this one, these shows will be talked about and live on forever, as they should. God Bless Sid & Marty Krofft for creating such imaginative and everlasting programs that are loved by children of all ages.
Respectfuly,
Mr. James V. Mendola
